Artist's Description
This painting is in response to a study of the Mexican day of the dead, sugar skulls and Mexican art work.
Also combined with this piece is my recent exploration of information regarding the 5 elements prevalent throughout most comparative spirituality. So in the back ground are the five elements represented by fire, air, water and earth, the skull itself representing consciousness.
I am particularly interested in the Bon teachings on the 5 elements. The Tibetan Bon tradition representation of the 5 elements practice are of particular interest for helping one to return to inner balance and peace.

Stephen Humphries Born Liverpool England 1979 Stephen has a range of styles from thick expressive paintings of trees to tight detailed paintings of Greek gods. Since achieving a B.A degree in Fine Art in 2001 at the age of 21 he has had many exhibitions in various places in England, Europe and Thailand.
